Welcome to Troop 201 and 2201's home page!
Our Troops are a great place for boys and girls to learn and develop skills that will last a lifetime! Troop 201 is our Troop for boys and 2201 is our Troop for girls. They operate as a "linked" troop, so share a Parent Committee and calendar of events. We practice BSA's "Scout led" philosophy and provide opportunities to learn skills such as camping, first aid, cooking, outdoor conservation and life skills like teamwork, leadership, planning, responsibility. We have a full schedule of outings that are determined by the scouts that cover activities like week summer camps, weekend campouts, hikes, cycling, etc. We also provide opportunities to challenge our scouts by attending BSA's High Adventure camps. We believe in being an asset to our community, so participate in several community service projects throughout the year.
Troop 201 and 2201 meet at Wesley United Methodist Church on Friday’s at 7:00pm about twice a month year around and typically have 1-2 outings per month. Wesley United Methodist Church has hosted SVMBC's Cub and Scout programs since the 1990's and is located in San Jose’s Japantown at 566 N 5th Street. While some troops are comprised of members from their local community, Troop 201 has member from all over the Santa Clara Valley ranging from Morgan Hill to Fremont, and out to Sunnyvale and Los Gatos.
