Troop 201 strives to provide the environment and structure that allows our Scouts to develop life skills and learn about conservation, the outdoors and community service.   We strongly believe in the Troop being ‘boy led’ with adult leaders being present for coaching and guidance.    The scout leadership team is called the Patrol Leader Council (PLC) and they plan and make decisions for troop activities.  The philosophy of servant leadership is practiced so the PLC knows that their job is to support the entire troop.

Troop 201 participates in Boy Scouts Journey To Excellence (JTE).  JTE is a rating system that measures the planning, performance and recognition program and is used to motivate troops, districts and councils in providing a quality program at all levels of Scouting.  The scorecard covers areas such as planning and budgeting, membership, advancement progress, camping activities, community service, leadership training and results are reflected as Bronze, Silver or Gold status.  Troop 201 is proud of their track record of earning Gold every year since 2015.

Troop 201 is guided by an adult leadership team and parent committee.  Our adult leadership team is qualified to teach 66 merit badges including all those required to achieve the Eagle Rank.   Having such a wide breadth of scope has facilitated the progress of scouts achieving the Eagle Rank.  While achieving Eagle isn't a goal for everyone, we have a strong track record of producing many Eagle Scouts.
